Corporate Tax Senior Manager - Houston, TX

The Corporate Tax Senior Manager will be responsible for handling a variety of tax-related projects, including business income tax planning, corporate compliance, and ASC 740 income tax accounting. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and collaborate with other team members and specialists in our tax practice. Success in this role can lead to advancement to Partner or Managing Director within our firm.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise multiple client service teams on engagements, including planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects in various industries
- Provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients
- Market and sell tax-planning strategies to existing and potential clients to help grow the firm's profitability
- Participate in business development activities and professional industry events to enhance the firm's brand
- Manage engagement fundamentals, such as realization, utilization, leverage, accounts receivable, and expenses
- Develop and train staff on tax projects and conduct performance assessments
- Review complicated or complex tax returns and make recommendations for accuracy and tax savings opportunities
- Review ASC 740 income tax provision engagements
- Conduct research and provide consultation on various tax matters
- Maintain a good working relationship with clients and effectively communicate with client management and staff at all levels
- Gain an understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives in order to provide effective tax services
- Attend professional development and training sessions regularly
- Adhere to professional standards and maintain strict client confidentiality
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Master's degree in Taxation, LLM in Taxation, or JD preferred
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience
- CPA or JD/active law license required
- Experience in public accounting preferred
- Strong knowledge of corporate income tax and ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes
- Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in US GAAP and corporate income tax laws and regulations
- Familiarity with broad-based statutory income tax compliance and consulting, including state and local income taxes, international taxation, and transfer pricing
- Exceptional client service, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Experience with OneSource Tax Provision preferred
- Strong teamwork and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Willingness to travel as needed
