**Paralegal - Housing Stability**

New Mexico Legal Aid is seeking a Paralegal to join its Statewide Housing Stability program. The successful candidate will provide legal support to attorneys working on housing related issues and will be responsible for assisting with eviction prevention, habitability, reasonable accommodations, subsidized housing, low-income housing tax credits and other housing related work.

**Requirements**

- but will consider exceptionally well qualified entry level candidates.
- Expertise in housing and statewide resources available to low-income persons.
- Ability to effectively use computer technology and remote communications systems, including shared on-line workspaces and web meeting and videoconferencing software.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with staff located in multiple offices.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and build collaborative relationships within the staff and the community served by NMLA.
- Willingness to travel statewide.
- Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

**Responsibilities**

- Process intakes.
- Draft pleadings.
- Contact clients.
- Support attorneys in preparation for court.
- Send referrals to other support service agencies.
- Engage in outreach.
- Arrange and assist with legal clinics.
