Duties:

  • Manage and oversee all phases of civil litigation, from pre-litigation disputes to trial preparation.
  • Represent clients in depositions, hearings, and court conferences, ensuring all necessary legal steps are taken.
  • Draft, review, and revise complex legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Lead and collaborate with junior associates and support staff on case management.
  • Regularly consult with clients to assess their legal needs and provide strategic advice.
  • Negotiate favorable settlements on behalf of clients to resolve disputes efficiently.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism in interactions with clients, opposing counsel, and others.
  • Stay current with developments in the law and any changes that may affect clients or the firm's practice.
  • Help the firm grow by fostering and maintaining strong client relationships, with opportunities to earn bonuses for client origination.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in civil litigation.
  • Proven track record of managing complex cases and leading legal teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Comfortable handling depositions, court appearances, and other litigation-related tasks.
  • Ability to independently manage a caseload and meet deadlines.
  • Professional demeanor and high ethical standards in all aspects of legal practice.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and legal research skills.
  • Ability to draft persuasive motions, pleadings, and legal briefs.
  • Excellent negotiation and settlement skills.
  • Proficient in case management software and legal tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing teams or mentoring junior attorneys.
