Duties

  • Handle a caseload of workers’ compensation subrogation and fire/property subrogation claims from initiation through resolution.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, including gathering evidence, assessing liability, and consulting with clients.
  • Prepare and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients in mediations, depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurers, third parties, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide legal counsel on subrogation strategies to maximize recoveries for clients.
  • Maintain detailed records of case activities and communications.
  • Stay updated on developments in workers’ compensation law and subrogation practices.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in workers' compensation law, with a focus on subrogation.
  • Proven expertise in litigation, negotiations, and managing a caseload efficiently.
  • Strong understanding of workers' compensation and subrogation regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in California, including State and Federal Jurisdictions.
  • Civil trial experience is required.
