Duties:
- Represent clients in intellectual property litigation matters, including patent infringement cases.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to strategize and prepare for trials, hearings, and appeals.
- Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery requests.
- Manage case files and ensure timely submission of legal documents to courts and other agencies.
- Conduct legal research on IP laws, patent regulations, and related case law.
- Engage with clients to provide strategic counsel on IP protection and enforcement.
- Participate in depositions, hearings, and other litigation proceedings.
- Coordinate with expert witnesses and technical consultants to strengthen cases.
- Assist in managing relationships with clients, maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
Requirements:
- 3-6 years of experience in IP litigation, with a focus on patent disputes.
- Strong understanding of intellectual property law, including patent law and related regulations.
- Experience with PTAB (Patent Trial and Appeal Board) disputes is a plus.
- A technical background, preferably in engineering disciplines such as electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, or biomedical engineering.
- Prior experience with federal courts and intellectual property litigation matters.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Undergraduate degree in a technical field (preferred).
Certifications:
- Admission to the California State Bar (or willingness to obtain membership).
