Corporate Counsel - Commercial Litigation: A Mid- to Senior-Level Position with Sodexo's Corporate Legal Department

Job Description:

- Responsible for managing cases on the Company's nationwide litigation docket and advising internal clients on business-related disputes
- Handles bankruptcy (mostly Chapter 11/creditors' rights) matters
- Offers a Hybrid Work Arrangement (combination of office/remote) based out of North America headquarters in North Bethesda, Maryland
- Collaborates with other members of the Legal Department and internal business teams
- Looking for a business-minded attorney with at least 4 years of experience in business-related litigation
- Willing to train the right candidate

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Provides advice and counseling to internal clients on business-related litigation matters
- Manages an independent caseload of nationwide complex commercial litigation and bankruptcy matters
- Supports day-to-day litigation case management and coordinates with outside counsel
- Conducts case investigations and oversees work performed by legal paraprofessionals
- Prepares quarterly reports on all formal commercial litigation and bankruptcy matters
- Advises on high exposure liability claims and assists in development of internal policies and procedures
- Conducts internal training and provides periodic updates to clients on significant legal developments

Requirements:

- JD degree and active membership in at least one state bar
- 4-10 years of relevant business-related litigation experience
- Experience with e-discovery and document review technology platforms
- Strong desire to learn the Company's business and work as part of a team
- Excellent communication, research, and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle competing demands

Salary Information:

- Fair and equitable compensation based on candidate's specific criteria
- Budgeted range for this position is $132,800 to $200,970 per year

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Juris Doctorate (.) or . (Master of Laws) required
- 7 years of experience as a practicing attorney
