Supervisory Attorney Advisor Organization: Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Department: EEOC District Office Salary: $147,194 - $191,900 per year (GS-15) Experience: 4 years of professional legal experience, with at least 1 year equivalent to GS-14 level Location: Chicago, IL; Saint Louis, MO; New York, NY (remote work may be possible) Travel: Occasional travel may be required Promotion Potential: GS-15 Job Family: 0905 Attorney Position Type: Permanent, full-time, excepted service Summary: The EEOC is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Supervisory Attorney Advisor at the GS-0905-15 level. The incumbent will serve as Deputy District Director and will be responsible for overseeing the enforcement functions of the District Office, including planning, directing, and coordinating the work of subordinate supervisors. This is a leadership position within the senior management team of the EEOC District and requires a candidate with strong legal experience, supervisory skills, and a commitment to promoting equal employment opportunity. Duties: • Plan, direct, and coordinate the work of subordinate supervisors engaged in investigative and enforcement functions of the agency. • Oversee the Charge Receipt/Technical Information Unit, which provides administrative and technical support to enforcement units. • Supervise the Enforcement Units, which conduct detailed and comprehensive investigations of charges of employment discrimination. • Oversee the Systemic Function, which reviews and recommends subjects for in-depth investigations of alleged pattern and practice discrimination. • Provide oversight of negotiated settlements and conciliation agreements between EEOC and respondents. • Handle noncompliance as appropriate. Requirements: • Must be a . citizen or national. • Must be registered for Selective Service if male born after 12-31-59. • Must pass a background investigation. • Must have an active BAR membership in good standing. • Must maintain active BAR membership in good standing while employed with EEOC. • This position is in the Excepted Service. Qualifications: • Must have earned a professional law degree (. or .) from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association. • Must be an active member of the BAR. • Must have 4 years of professional legal experience, with at least 1 year equivalent to GS-14 level. • Additional legal education may be substituted for experience.
