A law firm seeks an experienced First Chair Jury Trial Attorney to join its litigation team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 20 years of litigation experience with a proven ability to lead jury trials from start to finish. This role offers the opportunity to handle high-stakes, complex litigation cases and serve as the primary advocate in court. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing trial strategies, managing a caseload, and mentoring junior attorneys.

Duties

  • Serve as the lead trial counsel in jury trials, overseeing cases from initiation to verdict.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive trial strategies, including jury selection, opening and closing arguments, and witness examination.
  • Manage all aspects of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Provide expert legal counsel to clients and internal teams, offering strategic recommendations.
  • Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and legal support staff.
  • Stay updated on relevant case law, procedural rules, and industry trends to inform case strategies.
  • Collaborate with external experts, investigators, and consultants to strengthen case presentations.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in relevant jurisdictions (., Arizona, New Mexico, or Nevada).
  • 20+ years of litigation experience, with a strong emphasis on first-chair jury trials.
  • Proven track record with a detailed trial resume showcasing representative cases, verdicts, and notable accomplishments.
  • Strong oral advocacy, legal research, and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex cases and communicate effectively with clients.
  • Leadership experience, including mentoring junior attorneys and staff.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the state bar for relevant jurisdiction(s) (., Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada).
