POSITION SUMMARY

The Citizen Advocacy Center is seeking interns to join their team for the summer. As a non-profit organization dedicated to building democracy, the CAC offers a unique opportunity for interns to learn about and contribute to citizen-initiated community engagement with government. Interns will gain valuable skills in legal advocacy, community organizing, public policy analysis, media outreach, civic education, and litigation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Conduct legal research and analyze state statutes and local codes
- Gather and document facts
- Assist with making requests for government information
- Conduct interviews
- Coordinate press and public releases
- Collaborate with attorneys on ongoing cases and projects

REQUIREMENTS

- Law school, college, or high school students
- Strong interest in government and civic engagement
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
