A law firm is seeking an Employee Benefits (ERISA) Attorney for their Fort Wayne office. The Employee Benefits (ERISA) Attorney will be responsible for counseling clients on employee benefits and executive compensation matters. This includes advising on qualified retirement plans, ERISA requirements, healthcare and welfare plans, non-qualified deferred compensation plans, and stock option agreements. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and implementing qualified retirement plans, counseling on ERISA requirements, and handling employee benefits issues in corporate mergers and acquisitions.

 

Duties:

  • Counsel clients on employee benefits and executive compensation matters
  • Advise on the design and implementation of qualified retirement plans, such as 401(k) plans, pension plans, profit-sharing plans, ESOPs, and defined benefit plans
  • Ensure legal compliance of employee retirement plans with ERISA requirements
  • Provide guidance on employee benefits issues during corporate mergers and acquisitions
  • Handle due diligence issues, benefit plan liability exposure, and plan mergers or terminations
  • Address administrative and operational issues associated with implementing employee retirement plans, healthcare and welfare plans, and executive compensation plans

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction
  • Experience counseling clients on employee benefits and executive compensation matters
  • Familiarity with ERISA requirements and regulations

 

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues and provide practical solutions
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience in corporate mergers and acquisitions is a plus
