A law firm in Denver is seeking a Mid-Level to Senior Government Contracts Associate Attorney with 5-9 years of experience. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with partners and be a key member of the team. The role involves counseling on government contracts performance issues, litigating CDA claims, bid protests, and FCA cases, and supporting internal and government investigations. Strong writing, analytical, interpersonal skills, and technical proficiency are required. Prior government contracts experience with a law firm is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with partners and team members to provide comprehensive legal counsel on government contracts performance issues.
  • Litigate Contract Disputes Act (CDA) claims, bid protests, and False Claims Act (FCA) cases.
  • Support and manage internal and government investigations related to government contracts.
  • Review and analyze contract and subcontract agreements, including FAR and DFARS flow-downs.
  • Conduct general research and writing to support the department’s government contracts practice.
  • Maintain and develop client relationships, demonstrating commitment to client service and effective communication.
  • Engage in business development and networking activities to foster new client relationships and opportunities.
  • Utilize technical skills and knowledge to effectively manage and resolve complex government contracts issues.

Requirements:

  • 5-9 years of experience in government contracts law, with a focus on performance issues, litigation, and investigations.
  • Prior government contracts experience with a law firm is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to litigate CDA claims, bid protests, and FCA cases.
  • Experience in reviewing contract and subcontract agreements, FAR, and DFARS flow-downs.
  • Strong writing, analytical, and research skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Superior organizational and time-management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Commitment to client service and building strong client relationships.
  • Strong networking and business development skills.
  • Technical proficiency related to government contracts.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Excellent academic credentials.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state where the hired candidate will be practicing (Colorado).
