Senior Construction Contracts Specialist Attorney (Flexible Schedule and Remote Acceptable)

Overview:

The Senior Construction Contracts Specialist Attorney at a reputable law firm will be responsible for advising clients on construction contract drafting and negotiation. This position offers a flexible schedule and the option to work remotely. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor (.) from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school, a minimum of 5 years relevant experience, strong academic credentials, and admission to practice in a United States jurisdiction.

Responsibilities:

- Develop standard form owner-contractor agreements, as well as standard form riders to commonly employed AIA contract forms.
- Create standard form subcontracts or master subcontract programs.
- Advise clients on negotiation of specific contract provisions for subcontracts.
- Represent clients in transactional matters, including commercial lease negotiation, asset purchase agreements, consulting agreements, and similar contract drafting and negotiation.
- Assist with negotiation of complex change orders and drafting of partial and final settlement agreements and waivers and releases.
- Conduct litigation and bid protest related work.
- Conduct research and prepare articles for publication in scholarly and trade journals on subject matter relevant to the firm’s client base.

Required Qualifications:

- Juris Doctor (.) from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Admission to practice in a United States jurisdiction.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience negotiating construction contracts in Massachusetts.
- Admission to practice (or pending admission) in Rhode Island.
