Job Overview:

The Junior-Mid Level Benefits Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal support and counsel in benefits and compensation, focusing on qualified retirement plans, health & welfare plans, and executive & deferred compensation arrangements. The candidate will also support benefits and compensation aspects in M&A transactions, ERISA litigation, and withdrawal liability matters.

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and support on various benefits and compensation matters.
  • Assist in the drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements, plan documents, and other legal documents related to employee benefits and compensation.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex benefits and compensation issues.
  • Support M&A transactions by conducting due diligence, assessing benefits and compensation implications, and assisting with transaction documents.
  • Represent clients in ERISA litigation and withdrawal liability disputes, as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff on various legal matters.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of benefits experience in private practice.
  • Experience with qualified retirement plans, health & welfare plans, and executive & deferred compensation arrangements.
  • Experience supporting benefits and compensation in M&A transactions and ERISA litigation is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent writing, oral advocacy, communication, and legal analysis skills.
