Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Biotechnology Patent Prosecution Associate. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and innovative biotechnology patents for clients in the biotechnology sector. The ideal candidate will have a . in biology, molecular biology, cellular biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline, combined with at least two years of experience in patent prosecution. Strong academic credentials and the ability to manage high-profile patent matters are essential for this position.

Location:

Duties:

  • Manage and prosecute biotechnology patent applications
  • Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications, including responses to office actions
  • Provide patentability, validity, and infringement analyses
  • Offer strategic advice on patent portfolio management
  • Collaborate with inventors and clients to develop IP strategies
  • Conduct meetings with clients to provide guidance on patent-related matters
  • Prepare detailed legal opinions and analysis for clients
  • Handle complex biotechnology patent issues with attention to detail

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in biotechnology patent prosecution
  • Proven track record in handling patent applications from start to finish
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Client-facing experience with the ability to build and maintain client relationships

Education:

  • . in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline
  • . from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • . bar membership
  • Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
