Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a motivated and talented newly admitted associate attorney to join its Civil Litigation team. This position offers the opportunity for hands-on experience in civil liability defense, including products, premises, transportation, and construction defense litigation. The ideal candidate will have excellent academic qualifications and a strong interest in pursuing a career in civil litigation. The firm provides a collaborative work environment, allowing attorneys to gain trial experience, client contact, and the opportunity for professional development.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, and mediations.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior associates on case preparation and strategy.
  • Communicate with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel regarding case developments.
  • Manage and prioritize a caseload efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the California State Bar.
  • 0-2 years of experience in civil liability, construction defect, or insurance defense litigation.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong research and writing abilities.
  • Knowledge of civil litigation procedures, including motions, discovery, and depositions.
  • Excellent organizational and case management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for communication with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
