Job Overview:

The Senior Benefits Senior Counsel will be responsible for providing legal counsel and guidance on a wide range of employee benefits matters, focusing on qualified retirement plans, health & welfare plans, and executive & deferred compensation arrangements. Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and support on employee benefits matters, including qualified retirement plans, health & welfare plans, and executive & deferred compensation arrangements.
  • Assist in benefits and compensation aspects of M&A transactions.
  • Handle ERISA litigation and withdrawal liability issues as needed.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in employee benefits law.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address benefits-related issues and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • . from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Minimum 5 years of significant benefits experience in private practice.
  • Experience with qualified retirement plans, health & welfare plans, and executive & deferred compensation arrangements.
  • Experience supporting benefits and compensation in M&A transactions is a plus.
  • ERISA litigation and withdrawal liability experience is desirable.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with tact and discretion.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
