A law firm seeks a highly skilled and motivated Complex Litigation Associate to join its team in Seattle. This position is ideal for candidates with a broad range of civil litigation experience, particularly in high-stakes and complex cases. The firm is looking for an associate with 2 to 6 years of legal experience, including time spent in a top law firm or prestigious clerkship. Duties:

  • Represent clients in complex civil litigation matters across various industries, including technology and life sciences.
  • Handle all aspects of litigation, including case preparation, legal research, drafting motions, pleadings, and discovery.
  • Manage a caseload of complex cases, coordinating with senior attorneys, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in court hearings, mediations, and trials, including presenting arguments and examining witnesses.
  • Advise clients on legal strategies and provide counsel on high-stakes legal issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including experts and consultants, to support litigation efforts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing excellent service and communicating case progress effectively.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including client outreach, presentations, and networking.

Requirements:

  • 2 to 6 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on complex matters.
  • Experience with high-profile cases and clients, particularly in technology, life sciences, or related industries.
  • Strong academic credentials and a background from a prestigious law firm or judicial clerkship.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively advocate and negotiate.
  • Solid understanding of litigation processes, including discovery, motions practice, and trial preparation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple high-stakes cases simultaneously.
  • Highly motivated and eager to contribute to the firm's success.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the state bar where the candidate is applying, in good standing.
  • Admission to the Washington State Bar is preferred but not required at the time of application.
