As a Federal Tax Associate at RSM, you will have the opportunity to work with high net worth families, closely held businesses, estates, trusts, and private foundations. You will develop strong relationships with clients and provide tax planning and research services. This role also includes preparing federal and state tax returns, staying current on tax legislation, and developing cutting edge tax ideas to reduce clients' overall effective tax rates.

Responsibilities:

- Work with high net worth families, closely held businesses, estates, trusts, and private foundations
- Develop strong relationships with clients and understand their needs and challenges
- Complete tax planning and research
- Prepare federal and state tax returns
- Stay current on tax legislation relevant to clients
- Develop innovative tax ideas to reduce clients' overall effective tax rates
- Demonstrate knowledge of different entity structures and the compliance process
- Provide written documentation on complex tax issues
- Stay aware of differing levels of assurance for tax positions taken

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field
- Required coursework to sit for CPA exam, licensed JD, or enrolled agent
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative team
- Excellent client relations and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding organizational skills
- CPA, JD, or Enrolled Agent designation preferred
- . in Taxation and/or Master's in Taxation preferred
