Job Title: Staff Attorney for Veterans Advocacy Project

Job Summary:
TRLA is seeking a full-time staff attorney to join our Veterans Advocacy Project. The attorney will provide extended civil services to low-income veterans and their families in a variety of legal matters. This position requires a strong commitment to serving those in need and a collaborative approach with community partners.

Responsibilities:
• Evaluate clients' claims and determine appropriate legal remedies
• Provide direct representation and counsel to eligible clients throughout all stages of litigation
• Establish and maintain relationships with community partners to address systemic barriers facing veterans
• Support civil legal services for veterans throughout the 68-county TRLA service area
• Participate in education and outreach efforts to raise awareness of legal issues faced by low-income veterans and their families

Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited university
• Licensed to practice law in Texas or willing to take the next available Texas bar exam
• Dedication to serving low-income populations
• Experience working with veterans and community service organizations
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, both written and spoken

Compensation and Benefits:
• Salary commensurate with experience
