**Responsibilities:**

- Provide legal support to the business units of a major public utility in Mississippi.
- Handle a broad range of casualty and/or commercial litigation matters in various venues around the state.
- Work independently or as part of a litigation team, with minimal reliance on outside counsel.
- Attend and participate in meetings, conferences, hearings, court appearances, mediations/arbitration, and trials.
- Interact with members of senior management and company executives.

**Qualifications:**

- Juris Doctorate and current license to practice law in the State of Mississippi.
- 6-10 years of litigation experience in state and/or federal courts.
- Extensive casualty and commercial litigation experience, with an ability to manage a docket of cases with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in various disciplines, attend in-person meetings and functions, and travel as needed.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a solid work ethic.
- Previous experience at a regionally or nationally recognized law firm or public utility is preferred.

**Additional Information:**

- This position may be filled as a Sr. Counsel with the appropriate background and experience.
- Work schedule may exceed ordinary business hours.
- This position requires daily work from the employer's office location.
- Attendance at industry/company related functions is expected.
