Duties:

  • Successfully mediate employment disputes.
  • Represent clients in significant and complex trials.
  • Research and analyze complex legal issues.
  • Write memorandums, briefs, letters, and other legal documents.
  • Market personal and firm services to prospective clients.
  • Perform discovery of electronically stored data and hard copies in preparation for litigation.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence in all legal matters.
  • Maintain strong communication and advocacy skills, including empathetic listening.
  • Manage schedules to allow consultations and achieve production/collection objectives, including outside core hours and weekend consultations.
  • Close consultations within the firm's 30-50% range, depending on the practice area.
  • Approve invoices promptly to ensure the business's financial health monthly.
  • Ensure support staff are fully utilized and productive.
  • Accurately and completely update client information, fees, engagement, trust, and invoices in the firm's case management system.
  • Engage in personal and firm brand expansion through blogs, social media posts, board participation, and organization involvement.
  • Seek positive feedback from successful client engagements and encourage positive star reviews.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong legal research skills.
  • 5+ years of experience as an attorney.
  • Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association-accredited law school.
  • Admission (or eligibility for reciprocal admission) to the Arizona Bar.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission (or eligibility for reciprocal admission) to the Arizona Bar.

Skills:

  • Proven mediation experience.
  • Significant and successful trial experience.
  • Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in writing memorandums, briefs, letters, and other legal documents.
  • Strong marketing skills for promoting personal and firm services.
