The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a Docket Paralegal to join our Legal Division at our headquarters in Abbott Park, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for daily patent operations, including docketing and auditing of a worldwide patent estate. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in all areas of IP operations and be able to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
- Process incoming and outgoing correspondence with outside counsel, patent offices, and annuity service vendors
- Maintain and manage the patent management system, preparing docket and portfolio reports
- Ensure all docket dates are cleared daily and deadlines are met
- Monitor patent and application statuses
- Manage integration of acquired and divested properties
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in records
- Interact with clients to reply to inquiries and obtain necessary information
- Stay updated on changes in patent rules
- Develop and maintain docketing processes, procedures, and policies in collaboration with Legal's Patent and IP teams

Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in domestic and foreign patent prosecution
- Extensive knowledge of patent terminology and filing procedures
- Knowledge of current USPTO rules and procedures
- Experience with worldwide maintenance fee renewals preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Strong communication skills
- Working knowledge of docketing software
- Paralegal certificate required

Preferred Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in IP operations
- Associate/Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience with worldwide maintenance fee renewals
