Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm, based in Phoenix, AZ, is looking for a skilled International Employment Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in employment counseling, with a focus on both domestic and international law. This position will support global employment matters and require a collaborative approach, working with various offices around the world to address cross-border employment issues. The firm is seeking someone adaptable, willing to learn, and ready to handle complex legal matters for a diverse range of clients.

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and counsel on employment law matters related to corporate transactions, including employment diligence.
  • Draft and negotiate employment, retention, and other related agreements.
  • Advise on workforce reductions, terminations, and severance strategies.
  • Counsel on restrictive covenants, employee mobility, and other workplace issues.
  • Support emerging companies with a broad range of employment law issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and international offices on employment matters.
  • Provide strategic guidance to clients to ensure compliance with local and international employment laws.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in employment law, with a focus on counseling (both domestic and international).
  • Demonstrated experience in employment law from a nationally recognized law firm or similar environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a solutions-focused approach to client needs.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in Arizona (or eligibility to obtain Arizona bar membership).

Skills:

  • Expertise in employment law, including both domestic and international matters.
  • Proficiency in drafting complex legal agreements and advising on employment-related issues.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster positive client relationships.
