## Jr. Legal Assistant (DMA I) Amentum is searching for a Jr. Legal Assistant (DMA I) to join their team. This position is based in Phoenix, Arizona, United States and is a full-time role. #### Responsibilities: - Schedule appointments, meetings, engagements, and conferences. - Receive and review incoming correspondence and forwards each item to the appropriate AUSA or to other staff based on a knowledge of the duties and functions of the United States Attorney's Office. - Receive telephone calls and visitors, screening those which can be handled without help. - Maintain legal and general office files. - Review, screen, and control incoming mail. - Review outgoing correspondence for procedural and grammatical accuracy, format, and presentation. - Bring errors to the attention of the writer. - Search for material used in recurring reports and assemble data into the proper format based on the purpose and nature of the report. - Make travel arrangements, secure accommodations and maintain contact while the Government traveler is in travel status. - Review case materials and be familiar with issues relevant to the legal issue at hand. - Search for and summarize relevant articles in trade magazines, law reviews, published studies, financial reports, and similar materials for use of attorneys in the preparation of opinions, briefs, and other legal documents. - Organize trial exhibits, as required, such as statistical charts and photographic exhibits. - Verify citations and legal references on prepared legal documents. - Produce written documents utilizing a range of office automation software. - Retrieve required information from various files and records and prepare legal documents with complicated formatting. - Ensure proper spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and grammar. - Consult with document author to resolve questionable material. - Use office software, provide automated litigation assistance to attorneys by preparing charts and other specialized materials relating to trial preparation and presentations. - Prepare summaries of testimony and depositions. - Edit non-legal memoranda, research reports and correspondence relating to cases. #### Qualifications: - Must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location. - Requires 1 year of experience of litigation support projects or undergraduate degree. - Prior experience in the legal environment is required. - Must be able to work independently in a team environment. - Excellent writing and oral communication skills are required. - Requires hands-on familiarity with the Government's office and network environment, including but not limited to, data processing environments, including office automation networks, PC-based databases and other applications, internet and server-based databases and other applications, such as Oracle, Relativity or other document review platform, Trial Director, etc. - Must be knowledgeable user of the Government's office and network environment, including but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheet, imaging, and hardware systems. - Must have experience conducting legal research using databases such as Lexis, Westlaw or Pacer. #### Preferred: - Familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources preferred. #### Salary Salary will be commensurate with experience.
