Job Description

Shearman & Sterling, a leading law firm, is currently seeking a highly qualified Project Development & Finance Associate with mid-level experience (Class Years 2019-2021) to join our team in the New York office. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of complex transactions in the infrastructure sector, including power, mining, renewables and transportation. We are looking for a candidate with strong academic credentials from a top-tier law school and experience in Project Development & Finance from an Amlaw 100 firm. Fluency in Spanish is also required for this position.

As an Associate in our Project Development & Finance practice group, you will play a significant role in transactions and have the opportunity to work closely with senior attorneys and clients. Your responsibilities may include:

- Assisting with finance and development deals, including asset acquisitions and dispositions
- Handling complex work-outs and restructurings of infrastructure assets
- Conducting legal research and analysis
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents
- Communicating with clients and other parties involved in transactions
- Participating in negotiations and deal meetings

We offer a competitive salary aligned with the standard market rate for this position. The good faith, annualized salary range for this role is $225,000 to $435,000, depending on your overall experience and other job-related factors such as education and training. This salary range is just one component of our total compensation and benefits package, which also includes a discretionary bonus, paid leave, and life, health, accident, and disability insurance. We also offer a 401(k) plan for our employees.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Compensation:

- Competitive salary aligned with standard market rate
