Job Overview
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Discovery Attorney to join their team. This position involves advising and supporting case teams and clients through all phases of the eDiscovery process, from preservation to production. The ideal candidate will have experience with pre-litigation information governance, deposition/witness preparation, and trial support. The Senior Discovery Attorney will collaborate with legal and technical teams to develop and manage case-specific eDiscovery workflows and protocols while ensuring risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility. Additionally, this role includes overseeing the work of junior attorneys, project attorneys, and service providers.

Duties

  • Advise and support case teams and clients through all stages of the eDiscovery process, including preservation, collection, processing, review, and production.
  • Provide guidance on pre-litigation information governance, deposition/witness preparation, and trial support.
  • Develop and manage case-specific workflows and protocols for eDiscovery with a focus on risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility.
  • Collaborate with legal and technical teams to identify key information necessary for successful case outcomes.
  • Oversee the quality of work and deliverables from junior attorneys, project attorneys, technologists, and service providers.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in all eDiscovery deliverables.

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in eDiscovery and litigation support.
  • Licensed and in good standing in the state where the position is located.
  • In-depth knowledge of eDiscovery laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Proven experience managing eDiscovery workflows and advising case teams and clients.
  • Ability to manage and supervise junior attorneys and service providers involved in the discovery process.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Preferred: eDiscovery-related certifications (., Relativity Certified Pro, Certified E-Discovery Specialist).

Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and other collaboration and messaging tools.
  • Expertise with Relativity is strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality work.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
