**Paralegal - Housing Stability**

New Mexico Legal Aid (NMLA) is looking for a passionate and motivated paralegal to join their Statewide Housing Stability program. This position will work with attorneys to provide civil legal services to low-income New Mexicans on a variety of legal issues related to housing, including eviction prevention, habitability, reasonable accommodations, and subsidized housing.

**Responsibilities:**

- Process intakes
- Draft pleadings
- Contact clients
- Support attorneys in preparation for court
- Send referrals to other support service agencies
- Engage in outreach
- Arrange and assist with legal clinics

**Requirements:**

- At least three years' experience as a Paralegal is preferred but will consider exceptionally well qualified entry level candidates
- Expertise in housing and statewide resources available to low-income persons
- Ability to effectively use computer technology and remote communications systems, including shared on-line workspaces and web meeting and videoconferencing software
- Ability to effectively collaborate with staff located in multiple offices
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and build collaborative relationships within the staff and the community served by NMLA
- Must be able to travel statewide
- Proficiency in Spanish is a plus
