Law Firm Seeking Intellectual Property Associate in Charlotte or Minneapolis The Nelson Mullins law firm is currently seeking a talented Intellectual Property Associate to join our team in either the Charlotte or Minneapolis office. Responsibilities of this role include utilizing your patent prosecution experience to write and file patent applications, as well as pursuing patent protection both in the . and abroad. As a registered patent attorney, you will also have the opportunity to perform freedom-to-operate analyses and write opinions for counsel. This position requires a strong team player who can work closely with other attorneys and staff members on a variety of intellectual property matters, including patentability analyses, drafting and prosecution, opinion work, and IP-related agreements and litigation. To be considered for this role, candidates must submit a cover letter, resume, and copy of their law school transcript. Qualifications for this position include 2-4 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution, with an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, computer engineering or a similar field. Strong academic credentials, a strong work ethic, and excellent writing and analytical skills are also required. Candidates must also be admitted to the North Carolina Bar or the Minneapolis State Bar, and be admitted to practice before the . Patent & Trademark Office or be eligible to sit for the Patent Bar.
