A well-established law firm in Lone Tree, CO is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney to join its dynamic team. The firm specializes in complex, high-asset divorce cases and child custody disputes, and is looking for a skilled attorney who can handle demanding caseloads while maintaining a strong client focus. Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in high-asset divorce proceedings, including property division, financial settlements, and spousal support matters.
- Handle complex parenting disputes, including child custody, visitation, and relocation cases.
- Manage a full caseload, including case preparation, legal research, and trial strategy development.
- Analyze and organize complex financial documents, including tax returns, business valuations, and asset inventories.
- Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, settlement proposals, and briefs.
- Engage in settlement negotiations, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution strategies to reach favorable outcomes for clients.
- Prepare for and appear in court, representing clients at hearings and trials.
- Build and maintain client relationships, demonstrating empathy while offering legal expertise during emotionally charged situations.
- Develop and implement strategies to attract new clients and expand the firm’s family law practice, networking within the community and legal field.
- Continuously grow professional knowledge, participating in ongoing legal education and firm-sponsored training.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of family law experience, with a focus on complex divorce, financial disputes, and parenting matters.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Colorado.
- Proven ability to handle high-stress situations with professionalism and compassion.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to analyze and manage complex financial documents and data.
- Experience preparing and arguing cases in court, including trials and hearings.
- Exceptional negotiation and settlement skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage a caseload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships with clients and colleagues.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Proven ability to develop a network of clients and referral sources.
- Familiarity with collaborative divorce practices and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods.
- Experience with financial analysis tools and spreadsheets for complex asset divisions.
- A proactive, client-oriented approach to legal practice and client management.
