A law firm in Oakland, CA, is seeking a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney with 2-5 years of experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing cases of varying complexity, communicating effectively with clients, and developing strategies for the efficient resolution of cases. This role requires proficiency in negotiating and settling cases, drafting pleadings and reports, and handling all aspects of workers’ compensation litigation. A valid California Bar License is required.

Duties:

  • Assume responsibility for workers' compensation cases at all levels of complexity.
  • Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide legal advice.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve efficient resolution of cases.
  • Negotiate and settle both cases-in-chief and liens.
  • Draft pleadings, reports, and other legal documents.
  • Handle all aspects of workers' compensation litigation from inception to resolution.
  • Represent clients in administrative hearings and court proceedings as necessary.
  • Collaborate with clients, experts, and other stakeholders to build strong case strategies.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in workers' compensation defense.
  • Proven ability to manage cases from start to finish.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in settling cases.
  • Excellent drafting skills for pleadings, reports, and other legal documents.
  • Ability to handle complex litigation and provide strategic legal advice.
  • Valid California Bar License.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Valid California Bar License.
