# Tax Attorney
Robinson+Cole, a leading AmLaw 200 firm, is seeking a senior associate or counsel level attorney to join the Tax + Exempt Organizations group. The ideal candidate for this role should have a minimum of seven years’ experience in counseling a variety of exempt organizations, both private foundations and public charities, with respect to structure and formation, charitable gift planning, transactional matters, and unrelated business taxable income strategy and planning.

* Admitted in the state of their primary office location

## Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

* Counseling exempt organizations with respect to structure and formation, charitable gift planning, transactional matters, and unrelated business taxable income strategy and planning
* Tax structuring and the formation of business entities, registration with tax and other regulatory agencies, and the drafting and revising of operating agreements and other governance documents
* Serving as corporate counsel to nonprofit organization clients and representing exempt organization clients in matters before the Office of the Attorney General, the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Revenue Services, the Probate Courts, and other authorities
* Advising on structure and tax-related issues associated with venture philanthropy collaborations, donor-advised funds, private foundations, and corporations

## Salary
New York Applicants: Please note that the target base salary range for this position for New York based candidates is $235,000 to $245,000. Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's class year, years of experience, skills, qualifications, and office location.
