Staff Attorney/ Term Law Clerk (2 Year Term) The candidate's duties include: Conducts legal research, analyzes case law, reviews rules of procedure, and researches legal issues; Prepares various court documents and drafts court decisions; Receives and responds to telephone or in-person questions as needed; Coordinates with Judge, Magistrates, other staff, and parties to answers inquiries; Maintains positive working relationship with persons of diverse cultural, racial, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds; Assists with various projects as assigned by the Judge, Magistrates, or Court Administrator; and Assists in supervision of legal interns/externs. Qualification and Experience The candidate ‘will be responsible for assisting the Judge and Magistrates in the Probate/Juvenile Division of the Common Pleas Court. Reports to the Probate/Juvenile Judge. Juris Doctorate degree is required. Incumbent must be licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio, or awaiting results of the Ohio bar examination, and must maintain license through requisite continuing education. Must possess a valid State of Ohio Driver's License, acceptable driving record, and no criminal record.
