Job Overview
A top-tier law firm is seeking a highly skilled and motivated associate to join its M&A and Private Equity teams in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in handling M&A transactions, a strong understanding of corporate law and market terms, and a proven track record in drafting transaction documents and managing deals. This role involves direct client interaction, offering a unique opportunity for entrepreneurial associates to build client relationships and manage matters with a high degree of autonomy.

Duties

  • Advise corporate clients and private equity funds on acquisitions, dispositions, minority investments, and other similar transactions.
  • Handle general corporate matters related to M&A and private equity transactions.
  • Draft transaction documents, including contracts, agreements, and other legal paperwork.
  • Manage transactions and deals from inception to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain direct client contact and manage client relationships effectively.
  • Develop new business and contribute to the firm’s growth.
  • Work independently and demonstrate leadership in managing cases.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in M&A and Private Equity transactions (for associates from law school class years 2021 and up).
  • Strong knowledge of corporate law and market terms.
  • Significant experience in drafting transaction documents and deal management.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on business development.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Education

  • . (Juris Doctor) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the State Bar (California) required.
