Overview:
The Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Policy Attorney to join the Legal Services Division (LSD) Policy HTQI department. This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $9, - $9, per month. The Policy Department provides legal advice and support to all agencies and programs within the health and human services system, making it a dynamic and impactful role. This position offers opportunities for advancement and movement within the Legal Services Division, as well as a commitment to work-life balance and the option for telework up to 100%.

Key Responsibilities:
- Advise HHS system clients and OCC leadership on legal matters and the drafting, interpretation, and application of agency policy
- Review, analyze, and draft legislation that may affect HHS system programs, operations, or policy
- Support the development of strategies and programs to implement legislative, programmatic, and policy initiatives

Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas
- Member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
- Substantial experience in legal work, administrative law and rulemaking, and conducting research
