Law Firm in Atlanta, GA is seeking a highly skilled and motivated IP Patent Associate or Patent Agent to join their team. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and industries, providing an exciting and challenging work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patent prosecution and a passion for intellectual property law.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and file patent applications with the USPTO and respond to office actions from the USPTO and other patent offices
- Conduct patent searches and analyze patentability and freedom to operate
- Assist with patent litigation matters, if applicable
- Collaborate with clients, including universities, start-ups, and other companies, to protect their innovations
- Stay up-to-date with changes in patent laws and regulations
- Provide excellent client service and maintain strong relationships with clients

Requirements:

- 2-4 years of experience in patent prosecution and USPTO registration
- Master's or PhD in organic chemistry, with an understanding of technologies related to synthetic chemistry and polymer chemistry
- Strong academic background and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others
- Detail-oriented and able to take on immediate responsibility
- Experience with patent freedom to operate and patent litigation preferred, but not required
