Job Overview: A law firm specializing in health care litigation seeks a mid- to Senior-Level Associate Attorney to join our Sacramento, CA office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business-focused health care litigation, particularly reimbursement disputes, and will manage a diverse caseload involving high-stakes litigation matters.

Job Duties:

  • Represent hospitals, health systems, and other healthcare providers in litigation, including shareholder disputes, reimbursement lawsuits against significant health plans, and multiparty, bet-the-company litigation.
  • Draft various legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes with opposing counsel and stakeholders.
  • Review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to healthcare litigation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Participate actively in arbitrations, mediations, settlement negotiations, and trials as necessary.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis, staying updated on developments in healthcare laws, regulations, and precedents.

Requirements:

  • Experience practicing law in health care litigation, with a focus on reimbursement disputes preferred.
  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar and in good standing.
  • Strong writing skills demonstrated through legal writing samples and excellent academic credentials.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience representing healthcare providers in high-stakes litigation matters.
  • Familiarity with federal and state health care laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
