Summary:

AXIS Capital is seeking a Claims Specialist for Management Liability to join their team in various locations including New York, NY; Chicago, IL; Alpharetta, GA; Red Bank, NJ; Los Angeles, CA; and Princeton, NJ. In this role, you will handle primary and excess claims involving Public and Private D&O, Financial Institutions, and Private Equity. The ideal candidate will have excellent negotiation and communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Independently handle a portfolio of middle-market primary and excess claims
- Investigate liability and damages issues and maintain appropriate documentation
- Evaluate claims and make accurate reserve recommendations
- Attend mediations and negotiate claim resolutions
- Assign and supervise outside counsel to effectively resolve claims
- Maintain relationships with insureds, brokers, and outside counsel
- Communicate regularly with Senior Claim and Underwriting Managers
- Represent AXIS in the marketplace and assist with underwriting
- Provide best-in-class claims service
- Participate in special projects and department initiatives
- Assess claims to support claim metrics and trends

Required Qualifications:

- 2+ years of experience at a law firm or insurance company
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills

Desired Skills and Characteristics:

- Experience with middle-market D&O and E&O matters and Federal Securities Class Actions, Derivative Litigation, and SEC-related matters
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Team player with excellent writing skills
- Demonstrated negotiation and analytical skills
- Adjuster licenses, where required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications and Share Point

Salary Information:

The expected base salary range for this position is as follows: New York, NY - $110-$160K; Short Hills, NJ - $85 -$150K; Los Angeles, CA $85 -$150K; Chicago, IL - $80 - $135K; Alpharetta, GA -$70 - $125K. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate's experience and work location. In addition, employees are eligible for competitive incentive targets based on corporate and individual performance. AXIS also offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical plans, health and wellness programs, retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, and paid vacation.
