The successful candidate will have 4+ years of experience in preparation and prosecution patent practice, strong writing and research skills, and excellent academic credentials (top 25% required). The preferred candidate must be licensed to practice law in Louisiana or willing and able to become licensed in Louisiana.

Job Responsibilities of a Transactional/Electrical Patent Attorney:

• Prepare and prosecute patent applications in electrical engineering, bioengineering, or related technical fields.

• Provide legal advice and guidance in patent-related matters.

• Identify potential patent infringement issues and advise clients on how to mitigate such risks.

• Develop and maintain client relationships.

• Develop strategies for the protection of intellectual property rights.

• Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues.

• Negotiate and draft contracts and agreements related to patents.

• Assist in the preparation and filing of documents for patent applications.

• Provide counsel on patent-related litigation.

• Assist in the preparation of patent opinions.

• Stay abreast of changes in the law.
