This is an excellent opportunity for a law student to gain experience in the legal field and to work with attorneys in various practice areas. The successful candidate will be a part-time, remote or onsite, 2nd or 3rd year law student, who will earn between $14-$17/hr for 15-20 hours of weekly work. The position will last four months, however, there may be an opportunity for renewal in the Winter. ## Job Description Law Firm is looking for a motivated Fall Corporate Associate with a passion for law to join its team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience in various practice areas and collaborate with attorneys. **Job Title:** Fall Corporate Associate **Salary:** $14-$17/hr USD / Year **Eligibility:** 2nd year and 3rd-year law students. First-year students in their second semester will be considered only if they demonstrate outstanding academic research and writing capabilities. **Position Type:** Part Time **Location:** Remote or Onsite (Gainesville, FL) **Duration:** Four months, with potential for renewal in the Winter **Essential Functions:** - Research legal issues for client matters and prepare memoranda that follow the standard firm legal memoformat - Compile and organize information obtained from research on particular issues in a memo, graph, orchart - Attend client meetings and (or) trainings in specific practice areas - Recommend additional resources to the firm library - Communicate regularly with supervising attorney on progress on projects - Assist with collaborations with co-counsel - Ask any questions that may deepen the understanding of the associate **Areas of Law:** International corporate law, healthcare law, mergers and acquisitions, . business entity selection and counseling, . copyright and trademark, foreign direct investment, nonprofit law, and some occasional work in corporate litigation and securities. **Supervisory Responsibilities:** The supervising attorney will closely review all work prepared by Associate. On occasion, Associate may be called upon to provide an explanation of his or her work or make suggestions based on research he or she completed. **Qualifications:** - Graduated from an accredited four-year institution - Currently enrolled in an accredited law school - Enrolled in coursework that directly reflects an interest in one or more of the central practice areas of the law firm - Plans to be admitted to the bar of one or more . states upon the completion of his or her legal studies - Any prior experience in one of the central practice areas of the firm is strongly considered - Demonstrate involvement in one or more programs or extracurricular activities in addition to his or her legal studies **Application:** To apply to this position, the following items are requested of applicants: - 1 Cover letter - Current resume - One copy of his or her current law school transcripts. - 3 References .
