Applications from experienced attorneys to provide counseling to City agencies on the processes that govern City transactions, primarily with regard to the City’s procurement of energy and to energy-related projects; to provide counseling on procurements and real estate transactions; to work on special projects, mainly as primary counsel on complex transactions; and to review City transactional documents. Recent projects have included helping to structure aid programs for hospitals during the pandemic, advising on the City’s East Side Coastal Resiliency Project, advising and assisting in the City’s efforts during the recent Census, reviewing and negotiating hundreds of contracts to address the Covid 19 pandemic.
Qualification and Experience Minimum Qual Requirements Applicants must be admitted and in good standing in New York State and must have substantial legal experience following graduation from an ABA accredited law school. In addition, preference will be given to applicants that have an engineering or energy management background, demonstrating an understanding of the technical aspects of energy procurement and projects. Ideal applicants should demonstrate substantial transactional experience, strong legal writing and analytical skills, strong interpersonal skills and excellent judgment.
