Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Irvine is seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney with a focus on Employment Law. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of employment-related litigation cases, including wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination, and class actions. Duties:

  • Represent clients in employment-related litigation matters, including wrongful termination, wage and hour claims, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other employment issues.
  • Draft and file various litigation documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
  • Handle depositions, and court hearings, and participate in settlement negotiations.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategies and trial preparations.
  • Maintain open and consistent communication with clients, ensuring they are informed throughout the legal process.
  • Provide expert legal advice on employment law matters.
  • Stay up-to-date with legal developments and changes in employment law and civil litigation.
  • Represent clients in trial, either before a judge or jury, and navigate courtroom procedures.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on employment law.
  • Proven track record of handling employment-related disputes, including wage and hour, wrongful termination, and class actions.
  • Strong ability to draft and manage litigation documents and pleadings.
  • Experience in taking and defending depositions and handling hearings.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of California.

Skills:

  • Employment law expertise, including knowledge of wage and hour laws, wrongful termination, and employment discrimination.
  • Familiarity with civil litigation procedures and best practices.
  • Trial preparation and courtroom experience.
  • Excellent client communication and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in legal research and case management tools.
