Summary:
The Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC law firm is seeking an experienced Trusts and Estates Paralegal for their Chattanooga office. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience with estate planning, incapacity, and post-death administration, as well as knowledge of both Tennessee and Georgia laws. This position will involve working with clients to prepare wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents, as well as handling post-death administration tasks such as probate petitions and fiduciary accountings. The candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program, and experience in accounting or bookkeeping would be beneficial.

Salary Information:
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney
- Assist with post-death administration tasks including probate petitions and fiduciary accountings
- Maintain a calendar system for court and other deadlines
- Communicate with financial institutions and government entities
- Analyze financial records and prepare inventories and accountings for trusts and estates
- Assist with the preparation of tax returns
- Heavy client contact and strong organizational and communication skills are required

Experience:
- At least five years of experience in estate planning and post-death administration
- Knowledge of both Tennessee and Georgia laws
- Bachelor's Degree or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program
- Experience in accounting or bookkeeping is a plus

Location:
Chattanooga, TN
