Job Overview: We are hiring on behalf of a well-established law firm seeking Associate Attorneys to join their Estate Planning and Real Estate & Land Use practice groups in the Salem, OR office. This position offers an excellent opportunity for both recent graduates and experienced attorneys with 0-5 years of experience. The successful candidates will work closely with business owners, entrepreneurs, and regional clients to provide specialized legal services. Duties:

  • Estate Planning & Probate:
    • Draft and prepare trusts and estate plans for individuals and families.
    • Advise trustees and personal representatives on trust administration and probate issues.
    • Provide counsel on charitable planning, estate and gift tax returns, and irrevocable trust planning.
  • Real Estate & Land Use:
    • Draft and negotiate commercial and real estate transactional documents.
    • Resolve real estate disputes and obtain land use entitlements.
    • Represent clients in appeals before local and state administrative bodies.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and provide high-quality legal services to clients.
  • Manage multiple projects and client matters independently and within a team setting.

Requirements:

  • 0-5 years of legal experience in estate planning, probate, or real estate law.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Law Review and/or trial competition experience (preferred).
  • Candidates in the top one-third of their class are preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Oregon State Bar (or eligibility for admission).

Skills:

  • Expertise in estate planning, probate, real estate transactions, or land use law.
  • Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage client relationships and provide exceptional service.
  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
