Job Overview
A prominent law firm, located in Irvine, CA, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Employment Litigation Attorney. This position offers an opportunity to work on a diverse range of complex legal matters within employment law, including individual, class action, and representative cases. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 7 years of relevant litigation experience, handling a busy and dynamic defense practice.

Duties

  • Manage all phases of employment litigation from pre-litigation through trial, including complex casework.
  • Represent clients in administrative and judicial forums, including state and federal courts, on matters such as FEHA/EEOC claims, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour disputes, and employment-related statutory or contract claims.
  • Handle motions, discovery, depositions, and court appearances, including in Los Angeles and Orange County jurisdictions.
  • Provide support to associates and partners in the firm while gaining exposure to significant business development opportunities.
  • Engage in client management, offering strategic counsel and advocacy.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high-quality legal service and a supportive work environment.

Requirements

  • 3-7 years of experience in employment law litigation, including defense practice.
  • Strong understanding of employment law issues, including complex employment-related claims and disputes.
  • Experience with pre-litigation demands, trial preparation, and courtroom advocacy.
  • Proven ability to handle depositions, motions, and discovery.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations and work with multiple clients simultaneously.
  • Strong client service and communication skills.
  • Capacity to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the State Bar of California is required.

Skills

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and drafting skills.
  • Strong litigation and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in case management and client relations.
  • Familiarity with state and federal employment laws and regulations.
