StandardAero is seeking a Sector Counsel/Director of Contracts to provide counsel, advice, and support to the Component & Accessories Sector. This role will report directly to the sector Assistant General Counsel and requires expert-level knowledge of contracts administration in both commercial and government contracting.

Key Responsibilities:

- Direct and oversee contracts and subcontracts throughout the lifecycle
- Draft, review, analyze, and negotiate various agreements
- Coordinate with various departments on contract negotiations and compliance matters
- Assist with proposal preparation and contract administration
- Ensure compliance with US government policies and procedures
- Foster and maintain relationships with federal contacting officers and prime contractors
- Manage in-house litigation matters and work with outside counsel as needed
- Assist with sector merger and acquisition activities
- Review and analyze aviation regulations
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives
- Conduct training sessions for sector staff and management
- Act as compliance point of contact for sector anti-corruption and trade compliance activities

Position Requirements:

- Must be authorized to work in the .
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years in private practice or in-house experience
- Effective change agent with a persistent drive for results
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively and anticipate problems and opportunities
- Travel may be required up to 20% of the time

Preferred Characteristics:

- JD or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognized institution preferred
- Aviation law experience is considered an asset
- General knowledge of anti-bribery law and trade compliance preferred
- Active member of a state bar in . preferred
