The project was formed in 1999 with the goal of providing legal representation to abused and neglected children who have never had representation before. The attorneys at the Children's Attorneys Project serve as the voice for these children in court and the community, allowing them to have an active role in their own destiny. As a law clerk at the Children's Attorneys Project, you will work closely with 25 staff attorneys in the unit. Your responsibilities will include drafting motions and pleadings, preparing arguments and case briefs for trials, attending court hearings and client meetings (if schedules permit), and preparing memos for children who are in dire need of pro bono CAP attorneys. This is an in-person position with a minimum time commitment of 15 hours per week. The pay rate for this position is per hour, and public interest grants may be applicable.
