A law firm in Cleveland is currently seeking an experienced Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Counsel. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing advice to businesses on various aspects of health and welfare plans, including compliance with relevant acts such as the Affordable Care Act (ACA), COBRA, HIPAA, Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, TiC, and CAA 21. The role requires expertise in drafting and negotiating service provider agreements and resolving issues related to the administration of health and welfare plans.

 

Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive advice to businesses on health and welfare plans, including wrap plans, cafeteria plans, and flexible benefits arrangements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, TiC, and CAA 21.
  • Draft and negotiate service provider agreements pertaining to employee benefits and executive compensation.
  • Resolve issues related to the administration of health and welfare plans.
  • Advise businesses on all aspects of health and welfare plans, including compliance and litigation matters.
  • Provide proactive advice on a wide range of compliance and litigation issues affecting health and welfare employee benefit plans.
  • Draft and negotiate service provider agreements.
  • Resolve issues related to the administration of health and welfare plans.

 

Experience:

The ideal candidate should have significant experience providing proactive advice to employers on compliance and litigation issues affecting health and welfare employee benefit plans.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the State Bar and in good standing.
  • Significant experience in employee benefits and executive compensation law.
  • Strong knowledge of ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, TiC, and CAA 21 compliance.
