Experience: 3+ years of legal experience in Rhode Island real estate, preferably with experience in bankruptcy, estate settlement, and litigation matters.

Department: Rhode Island Branch Operations

Summary:
The Counsel position in Rhode Island is responsible for providing support and guidance on title and real estate issues to agents and staff. This includes preparing title commitments, responding to inquiries, and presenting educational seminars. The individual in this role must have a law degree and be licensed to practice law in Rhode Island, with a preference for also being licensed in Massachusetts.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver title commitments to agents
- Respond to underwriting calls and make sound business decisions
- Assist with resolving title issues
- Advise staff on endorsements and policies
- Review condominium documents
- Meet with agents to resolve underwriting questions
- Write articles and present on real estate issues
- Participate in educational seminars and professional organization activities
- Comply with company policies and Code of Ethics and Conduct
- Other duties as required

Qualifications:
- Law degree from an accredited school
- Licensed to practice law in Rhode Island
- Minimum of 3 years of legal experience in Rhode Island real estate
- Experience in bankruptcy, estate settlement, and litigation preferred
