Job Description The Associate Attorney will be responsible for representing clients in all phases of litigation, including discovery, court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences. The successful candidate must possess 4 to 8 years of experience handling the defense of general liability and property claims and be admitted in NY and NJ. Responsibilities • Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including discovery, court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences • Conduct complex legal research and discovery • Draft discovery demands and responses, motions, case evaluations summaries, settlement agreements, pleadings, and legal memoranda and other case handling materials • Meticulously comply with firm and client billing and reporting guidelines Requirements • Admission in NY and NJ required • 4-8 years as an Attorney in a defense firm with focus on negligence, and premises cases • Superior court knowledge and experience arguing cases • Superior case management and advocacy skills • Experience drafting briefs and pleadings • Experience taking and defending depositions • Strong organizational skills, time management and adherence to strict deadlines • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and driven with a commitment to excellence • Proficient in Westlaw and/or Lexis Compensation Barry McTiernan & Moore LLC offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
