Law Firm Seeking Counsel for Commercial Contracting Team in Ohio Office Location

Thompson Hine LLP, a leading law firm, is looking for a Counsel to join their Commercial Contracting team in one of their Ohio office locations: Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, or Dayton. This position requires a minimum of five years of experience in commercial contracts, with a focus on data processing agreements and data privacy compliance. Previous experience in biotech is preferred, and candidates with at least three years of contract drafting and negotiating experience in a law firm setting will be given preference. The firm is open to considering candidates who are seeking flexible work arrangements on a case-by-case basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and collaborative team!

Key Responsibilities:

- Draft and negotiate commercial contracts, including data processing agreements and data privacy compliance.
- Provide legal advice and support to clients on contract-related matters.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments within the firm to ensure efficient and effective contract management.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations related to commercial contracts and data privacy compliance.
- Assist with training and development of junior team members.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of five years of experience working on commercial contracts, with a focus on data processing agreements and data privacy compliance.
- Prior experience in biotech preferred.
- At least three years of contract drafting and negotiating experience in a law firm environment.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar.
